GNM course

The Full Form of GNM course is General Nursing and Midwifery. It is a 3½ years diploma in paramedics. Nursing and Midwifery focuses on the provision of care to individuals, families, and communities.

The program has been designed to enable eligible candidates to address the health needs of the country, community, and individuals. They can also pursue advanced study and specialization in nursing while contributing to the health-based industry with patience, responsibility, and dedication.

GNM or General Nursing Midwifery is a Three and a half-year diploma course in the field of Nursing. Students who wish to pursue GNM diploma can proceed after passing their class 12 exam with Science stream. The Three year and half-year course includes six-months of mandatory internship. GNM diploma course is one of the sort out course which can be considered as a stepping stone towards making a career in the Nursing field. Graduates of GNM diploma can start their career by working with government and private hospitals and clinics.

In India, the average GNM diploma course fee ranges from Rs 20,000 to Rs 1.5 Lakh per annum. Which may vary based on the universities/colleges’ standards. There are various institutes in India which offers GNM diploma and admissions are done via both entrance exams and on the basis of merit.
